About the Project
Why I built this
Like many runners in Ireland, I love signing up for local road races. But I noticed a recurring frustration: while event registration is usually easy, finding a detailed course map with an elevation profile is often surprisingly difficult.
I wanted to know: "How steep is that hill at the 3km mark?", "Is the finish line on a fast flat?", or "What does the route actually look like?"
Often, this information is buried in old Facebook posts, blurry photos of maps, or fragmented GPS traces on Strava. I built this site to be the "one-stop-shop" that brings that data together in a clean, consistent, and easy-to-read format.
The Goal
RaceListIreland is designed to be a definitive resource for Irish road racing. My goal is to provide runners with the insights they need to prepare for their next PB, from local 5ks to major marathons across the country.
- 🗺️ Accurate Maps: Verified routes so you can visualize the race before you're on the start line.
- ⛰️ Elevation Data: Professional-grade profiles to help you pace your effort perfectly.
- 📱 Optimized for Mobile: Access course details instantly on your phone, whether you're at home or in the race car park.
Accuracy & Community
This project is built by a runner, for the running community. While I work hard to ensure every map is precise, courses can evolve and GPS data isn't always perfect.
If you represent a race and would like to update your course information, or if you're a runner who spotted a discrepancy, please use the link below to help keep this resource accurate for everyone.
